Seiko Watch = Manual?

My father recently passed away and I received an old Seiko watch that I want to use for sentimental reasons rather than style or value. I cannot - however - figure out the setting functions. The watch has two press buttons on the left - top is light and bottom scrolls functions. The stem on right sets time/alarm times but do not know how to select/deselect alarms or hourly chimes. The back has the following information "H449-5310RO" and "440045" (I assume is a serial number) = the front says "Seiko QUARTZ Alarm Chronograph" Black with Gold analog hands and a small digital window on bottom of face.

Go to the Digital Watch Library; there is a downloadable user manual for this watch.

Basically, you go to the relevant mode (time or alarm - there are two) and pull out the crown and rotate it back or forth as required to adjust the time setting, then push the crown back in. Simples!

How do you get the stopwatch to work? or more specifically STOP working. Does anyone have the manual in PDF form that they could email me. Thanks.

Fabulous thank you. My Rolex has gone for a service so dug out my 21st Birthday present from 1985.
A new battery, a blast by an electromagnetic to get the hands going, and now I have been able to adjust the features.

Thanks t'internet is a wonderful thing.

I had the same problem with mine that I got in 1978. To set the digital display's time, date, alarm, etc. you pull the crown on the right side of the watch half way out unlike pulling it all the way out to set the analog. Once you have pulled the crown half way out, you twist (you might hear a clicking noise when spinning the crown) to set the time, alarm, date, etc. To turn one of the alarms off or on you go to the alarms using the mode button on the bottom left. To turn the alarms on or off you pull the crown half way out and push it in again. To turn the hourly chime on or off you press both of the buttons on the left side at the same time until you hear a tone and then release. To set the analog you pull the crown all the way out and twist the crown to set the hands and then push in the crown. To use the light you press the top left button (doesn't work during stopwatch mode).

I have a manual for a Seiko H449/H448. Did you get your question answered?

My digital Seiko has a chime function set/reset by pressing the set/light switch at the same time as select/lock switch when the date is displayed.

To turn on (or off) the hourly chime, I believe you press both the buttons simultaneously while in the TIME or CALENDAR mode (i.e.. with the time or date showing).

Hi. I have the same watch, bought exactly twenty years ago. I don't have the manual either, but I know how to set most of the functions. The only thing I can't figure out is how to set on and off the hourly alarm chime. Have you found a manual yet? I can help you with most of the settings if you still need help.
