how to fix my boiler?

Have Potterton Profile boiler model 50e. Central heating will only work when water requirement is programmed to 'all day' supply. If boiler keeps water temp then heating does not work, until we increase water temp on numbered dial on boiler front. Room thermostat calls for heat by boiler does not fire up.

There is a wiring fault, possibly missing a wire to HW off in the back of the programmer.
