weedwacker wont start?

i have a craftsman gasoline weedwacker that wont start. first, it dies while trimming. i replaced the sparkplug, cleaned the air filter, checked all hoses. now it won't start. I need some help, before buying a new one. this unit is only 1-1/2 year old. thanks.

Basic tests, does it have a spark? yes carry on, no check switch and wire to switch, replace unit, does the plug get wet?no, replace fuel filter in the tank, service carb, remove muffler and check the condition of the piston through the exhaust port
