Machine jammed?

How can I fix my machine? My Brother PX-220 Sewing Machine? It won't go up and down - it has no thread jams and is oiled.
It makes a sound as though it is trying to work but nothing happens, even the handwheel does not turn. However, I can use the bobbin winder and when using it the handwheel does turn. Please help! Thanks.

Hello Cindy,
Definitely sounds as though there is something stuck in the raceway area, force the balance wheel backwards and if there is something stuck it should free off, failing that you will need to check the nyon gear under the raceway to make sure it has not broken away.
