Drive-belt tightening on Zanussi TC470?

There are several threads on this forum with respect to this problem (going back to 2004)

Here's a list:

I have bought a replacement belt from

http://www.espares.co.uk/product.aspx?c=1088&ma=332&mt=0&mo=406874&id=501196&

or

however the belt appears to be to big. I called the helpline for e-spares and they advised that there are 2 x models in the TC470 range and that one is a slightly different size to the other. Both begin with a '9' (found inside the door, bottom left) however there is also a 2-digit suffix - for my dryer this is 03 - and Elextrolux (who make Zanussi) advise that the same belt fits both machines.

However I can't find a working link for any of the picture-links.

So I've taken some photos and have put them here:

However I still have a problem with achieving the correct tension. The first picture

shows how the belt looks, when positioned immediately after removing the back cover and lying the dryer on it's front (door) so I am looking down into the unit.
It's clear to me, that the clamping wheel, is not applying any tension but this is the position in which I found the drive motor assembly.

So, I re-routed the belt, to what to my mind should be the correct path for the belt to follow, see picture 5

and picture 7

This, I thought should be the correct position. However, there still didn't seem to be enough tension. So I moved the belt to go the other side of the clamping roller. See pictures 8

and 9

by turning the motor in an anti-clockwise direction.

Now the clamp wheel is at 10 o'clock, relevant to the floor when the dryer is in an upright position and the drive shaft is centred.

Sadly, the whole set-up is now too 'firm' to move. Applying power, with the heating element disconnected and the top off, I can see there is an attempt to move the drum, after a 1/4" turn the whole thing stops - including the drive shaft - as the belt tightens around the drum. So my next step, is to remove the drum from the front rubber seals and see if it is fouling in some way. I am able to turn the drum by hand, so I clearly have a bit more oomph in me than the motor but it is stiff to turn.

Working now. Removed the drum completely.
Laid dryer on it's door.
Removed gasket from around door and cleaned (very dusty)
Re-fitted gasket and then drum, which was easy to centralise.
Re-fitted belt, as per picture 11

http://preview.tinyurl.com/y2az6hp

Re-fitted rear cover and loosely fitted retaining screws, only tightening when I had centralised drum AND tightened the 3 screws holding the adjustor plate for the drum.
Then tightened all retaining screws.

All working fine now.
