FUNAI, DVD RECORDER WON'T RECORD ON HARD DRIVE?

my FUNAI recorder combi with hard drive won't start up, it makes a (struggling?)noise for ages before it gets set to the tv, and then when I try to record on the hard drive, it comes up with SYSTEM ERROR, at the bottom of this information box, it says, 02-54, don't know it this is the code for the problem and would appreciate any help, many thanks Ann
