How can I change the batteries on my GE phone 29267GE3B?

Where are the batteries located? How do I get there?

On the base, the middle part is the part that holds the 4 batteries. I used a screwdriver to put in the hole and push the plastic piece toward the receiver cord. The cover is on a plastic hinge (toward the top of the base). It is not a good system, but like you, I couldn't get it at first either. Good luck.
