Step 1) You wouldn't expect to use a car without learning how to drive it. Learn about your computer.
Step 2) Load and update a good antivirus package. AVG Free is pretty good, although the bundled parasiteware from Yahoo is beneath contempt
Step 3) Go to www.whatthetech.com and join their self-help forum. It is a really useful site for cleaning up PC infections.
Step 4) Learn about how to avoid getting infected in the future. www.whatthetech.com may be useful there as well.
