Indesit W143S Error Code 8?

I recently bought a house which came with a washing machine: an Indesit W143S.

It will only work on cycle 8 (Daily Wash). On any other cycle the selector clicks round continuously and the power light flashes eight times (I believe this is an error code).

Any idea what this means? We weren't given the manual.

This often happens when there is a foreign object in the filter. It is usually something like a bra wire or hair clip (at least in my experience). Take the plastic cover off the bottom to reveal a filter (bottom right). Unscrew this and have a poke around.

i have same model and same problem! unfortunately no answer, it has been suggested to me that it could be the filter but i havent a clue where that is. If you get any joy would appreicite any help! thanks
