Potterton Suprima 70 red light solid?

Get yourself a new boiler, these things are a joke. I have two of them in my house, a 70 and an 80 and we're on circuit board no.9 (in twelve years). The latest board is to replace one of the new solid state boards which everyone seemed to think might cure the problem at last.

Thanks Ian. I had the PCB replaced a couple or three years ago. The system's absolutely dead - reset has no effect - so I guess you're right. Potterton say a solid red light means 'no demand' but I've got the thermostat cranked way up and controls on manual so there's definitely demand.

Can I replace the board myself? It's about £120 + VAT i think.

is the system cold? as it may have overheated then you'd need to let it cool down before re-set. if it is cold then i'd suspect the pcb is faulty, as they're notoriously unreliable unless it's the updated kit.
