No display or radio or Nav control during turn on. 2004 jeep gand cherokee?

Some times durning starting, the radio, nav system will not display anything and will not control the radio. The radio plays and one can vary the volume only.

If we drive for about 1/2 hr sometimes the system comes on.

If the system is on and we stop and shut off the car for a short time and restart the system does not boot up.

Alpine does not help at all.
