The best part of the movie is that the guy is obviously not very safety conscious as he's got the blender plugged in while he's hacking on the clutch. LOL.

Our kitchenaid blender was non-funcitioning for about 6 months. The closest to finding a wrench that fit were golf divot tools. Some were a little too large, others a little too small. There's probably one out there that would fit, but we didn't find it. People at the 800 number told us to call repairmen, none of them returned our calls. A local handyman had it for about a month. He was unable to do anything with it. After reading the sugestions in this thread we pried it off with two large screwdrivers, opposite each other. We had one person on each screwdriver. One screwdriver was about 14" and the other about 10" from tip to end of handle. It popped off after about 30 seconds of fooling with it. It must have shot high up into the air, because I think that it took about 3-4 seconds to hit the floor again. (We have a high ceiling). Anyway, the threads on the clutch stripped, leaving little silver fractions of circles (make sure all of these are out of the shaft threads to get the new clutch to screw down securely). The threads on the shaft for us seemed to be fine, and our kitchenaid blender is working great again. Good luck.

Do _not_ follow the instructions in this movie. The clutch is screwed on, and if you pry it off with a screwdriver you'll do it by stripping the screws. The metal in the base is better-quality than the metal in the clutch so you'll probably strip the clutch and leave the base intact, but why take the chance? It's a pain in the butt and the clutch is clearly meant to be removed with a wrench. (Do keep in mind the left-handed threads!)

Have a look at this movie link on how to do it with just a screwdriver.

Use a thin 7mm wrench. Place the wrench under the rubber clutch and over the shaft. Hold the wrench and turn the rubber clutch clockwise. (The threads on the shaft are left handed). I didn't have a thin enough wrench so I used my grinder to make one.
