Quite simple really, mine had been left off for some time and I suspect had got quite warm as well . But after much searching and messing around I came to the conclussion that the lid hinge activated switch rubber nipple was stuck down so in effect telling the phone the lid was closed all the time and so blanking the display etc. Also mine had a really flat battery. Rectification = dissassemble at your own risk and take the main body appart but you will need a small torx driver. You will have to lift the display connector out of its socket. Remove the key membrane and look for the gold contact that is operated by the hinged lid gently but firmly bend this in a direction away from the pcb contact (so when its put back together it doesnt permently make contact and tell the phone its lid is always closed). Before bending the rubber membrane this can also be proved temporarily by placing a small piece of paper over the pcb contacts and reassemble and try switching the phone on with a battery with some charge in it. If it all works then bend the membrane as described above. Dont forget to remove the paper before final assembly. While at this stage its worth checking for any corrossion on the on/off button contacts and clean these as well. Dont forget the self tapper screws go in the bottom of the phone away from the hinge and the machine screws go in the hinge but dont overtighten them. HAPPY PHONE REPAIRS.
