Logik DAB radio? LOG3006DBE?

I have a Dab radio (model above) I get buzzing from the radio even when it is not switched on . When it is plugged into the mains it buzzes continuously until plugged out. The noise continues throughout play to any station .How do I get this to stop.

Hi, I had the same problem and took your advice. I didn't have a clue what I was ordering or doing but thought it was worth a try and hooray it worked. It blew the fuse in the process so I had to order one of them too. Now it is perfect again, I am ever so grateful to your advice. Thanks

The smoothing caps aren't of a high enough voltage rating and over heat. The buzz is the first sign of failure. If left, the loading on the bridge rectifier ( ac-dc convertor) causes failure of one or more of the diodes which, if you are unlucky, will take out more of the components. My wife had one and it died very quickly from the onset of the buzzing. I had it in the workshop and found that most of the chips had fried. Solution is, as others have stated, to up grade the caps to a higher voltage. As soon as you hear this buzz, pull the plug and have it checked.

I've just replaced the two capacitors, and it has helped a bit, but not a great deal. I think the main problem is the transformer is mounted vertically on the rear removable panel, and not very firmly, which is why fiddling with the screws can make it come and go. I may try jamming in some padding to silence it.

Reservoir capacitor bulging caused the intermittent switching on and off due to voltage of the feed to the main circuits going up and down as show on a meter I used.
Replacing the bulging capacitor with a 2200mF 25volt replacement solved the problem.

Did anyone find a solution for the oud buzzing noise on DAB setting? If wanyone can describe how to locate and replace the 16v capacitors I'd be very grateful.

I have th buzzing too which started after I'd been away for a week on holiday. Can anyone tell me where to buy the capacitors and whether it's easy to replace them myself?

Replace the two 2200mf 16vw reservoir capacitors in the power supply and your problem will be fixed. This advice is applicable to any of the electrolytic capacitors in the set that show the slightest sing of the tops bulging. Good luck

Has anyone managed to resolve this? My set started doing this after being unplugged while on holiday for a week - can't receive anything on DAB or FM. I haven't managed to find a Logik website either.

I have one that was just the same. Apparantly there are two capacitors within that are only rated at 16v these had gone and were replaced with 24v ones the radio is now perfect again.

Any one got this sorted my Logik DAB has recently started this loud buzz only on the DAB channels, which is getting louder by the day. I can listen to my MP3 ok and FM is not bad but i brought it for the DAB

Hi Colin. Did you get your radio fixed, I have exactly the same problem!

Just loosen the centre (or perhaps all three) right hand screw (as viewed from rear) a half turn or so. My did not have the buzz, but I have read about it and could induce it by tightening these up!

Hi Derek, I have the same radio with the same problem, not only that, but my previous one had the same problem, fortunatley within the gurantee period so Currys just swapped me for another one. Now the new one has developed the same problem(albeit after about 18months). I have found a local repairer who says he can fix it. He is coming on the 8th June. Will let you know what transpires. This looks like a problem with the set to me, but I can't find a link to Logik's website anywhere.
