I had the same problem just a few days ago. I little metal bit broke inside the door lock. Somehow I super glued heavily back together and touch wood it is working so far.
Anyway you will have to pull off the the inside door panel of where the lock is located. The should then be lever you push out to open the door(the door handle hooks onto this). Make sure the window is up and door unlocked before you do this. After you have opened the door I would recommend to get a second hand part thats broken rather than just repairing it again as the same thing may happen again. Good luck
