my van won't hold charge its a 96 plymouth grand voyager the battery light comes on and the van dies whats wrong

Could be alternator or fuseable link it in mail power line going to the alternator check for 12 volts before link with a tester have alternator tester

sounds like the alternator is bad not recharging the battery
