How can I delete a line or double line from my documents?

I use Microsoft Word. When I use the --- or === shortcuts to draw lines across my pages I find it very difficult to delete them. I can't seem to select the line to delete it.

I've tried using Cut. I've tried picking out my text and starting again with a new document, but this doesn't always work.

What I need is the proper way to remove these lines? Can anyone help?

Rob is right! First "select all" under the editing box on the far which will be on the Home bar, then click on the square box for borders, select "borders and shading", then make sure to select "none" for all tabs and wa' la' all those stupid lines are gone and your rid of persistent frustration.

yep. he is right. that is the way to do it. You could also see the borders box on the top of the screen, pull down the menu and click the no line box.

I would suggest using that borders area for any time you want to draw a full line across the page. you can always adjust the type of line by turning on your Drawing menu and selecting the size of the line thickness as well as dotted or coupon type designs.

Click at the beginning of the line.
On the Format menu, click Borders and Shading, and then click the Borders tab.
Under Settings, click None, and then click OK.
