tHANKS FOR THAT BUT AS SAID ONLY HAPPENS ONCE IN A WHILE BUT WILL TRY IT OUT, BUT HAVE NEVER NOTICED A FLASHING SPANNER! COULD THERE BEA LOOSE CONNECTION OR MOISTURE AS WELL?

Hi There, having problems sometimes starting my engine, battery, timing belt, and sparks changed out, starter motor was checked also this is an intermitant problem and occurs like if there is heavy rain like car is letting in mositure somewhere.

The flashing spanner means the engines computer has noted a fault but it could be just a false warning, the correct way to cancel the light is to have a diagnostic computer connected to find the fault, but you sould be able to cancel the light by the following method Switch the ignition on, press and hold the trip reset button (by the speedo) the spanner will flash keep holding the button untill the spanner stops flashing and remains constantly illuminated then release the trip button and switch ignition off. If the fault is still present the light will come back on after you next drive the car!
