Vauxhall Zafira Starting Proplems?????? Please HELP?

Hi for as long as I can remember my Zafira has had issues starting, I can put up with it in the summer as it will eventually start but come the winter I have to jump start it every morning unless im lucky. And now as its winter IM FED UP lol
The car trys starting and your literally turning the key for a few minutes before it will actually start and sometimes the battery goes flat where we have been turning it over for so long and then have to jump start it. Dont know if its normal but get quite a chokey puff of smoke come out the exhaust once it fires up and then it acts like everything is normall all day long untill the next morning.... What could be causing this ????

Fill the tank with diesel and park the car facing downhill on a steep slope. Does the car now start better?

If so,check/replace the diesel leak-off pipes. They perish and allow air into the system causing difficult starting, this is quite a common problem. Relatively cheap and easy for a competent DIY mechanic.

Possible solutions-1) The glow plugs need changing-Expensive. 2) Clean the connectors on the leads to the battery and terminals. Hope this works.
