Cleaning the scan window Braun Tasimo 3107: Requires repair knowledge and special tools. Remove all power before disassembly.
1. Remove the two housing sides by removing Philips screws. Set aside and keep track of screws and location from which they came. During handling, do not disturb any of the electrical connectors to circuits
2. Position unit to lay on back side. Observe there are four torques #15 screws that need to be removed to separate the reader housing and dispensing pierce unit for service.
3. Clean all goo off all areas of this piercing unit and reader housing before disassembly of reader/pierce housing.
4. remove 4 only torques screws holding the two halves together- unit may be stuck together by dried syrups and products, Carefully using low force if necessary open the two halves. Observe that there is a square gasket surrounding the scan window. DO NOT lose that gasket. Also do not disturb the hot water hose connection or you will need a tye-rap to re-clamp it on the hose fitting.
5. Carefully remove the glass window and gasket and clean them up with soap and water. I usually apply a very small bead of sealer (could use FDA approved faucet grease on both sides of gasket to hold it in place for reassembly) around the window frame but not enough to smear onto the window glass.
6. Trial fit the gasket, window and housing together. If the window is clear, complete the operation by gently screwing the torques back into their respective locations. Do not over tighten the screws.
7. Trial fit the housing sides to make sure all seams are closed, apply the screws to secure sides.
8. Test machine using cleaning disk and pure water for one or two cycles. If okay, try a product disk.
Good luck
