Mend Kenmore 80 Motor

Kenmore Series 80 spins with assistance?

I have a Kenmore Series 80 washing machine. I have replaced the motor couplers three times on this thing already.

It will spin if there is not a load on the drum. It will even spin if there is about 1" of water in it. BUT if there are any items in it, even A towel..it will not spin.

If I take my hand and spin the drum while it is in the spin cycle, it starts slow but eventually picks up speed and spins normally.

Per the other post similar to this one, mine does not show any oil residue or transmission leakage.

Any ideas - I am assuming motor is gone, but hoping a fix is as easy and cheap as replacing the motor coupler (which is not broken this time).

I have the same machine and problem, what i did was remove the top cap (If u look closely at the top cap, ul see a tiny slot that a medium sized flathead screwdriver can fit into, hence, pry top cap open).
Once cap is open, spin the agitator (the piece that spins the water that u help along to get it to work properly) While looking down into the center of the agitator. About an inche down ul see teeth on the outer wall, spin the agitator (by hand) back and forth and ul see 4 plastic stops pop out against the teeth on the outer wall (If u look closely, ul see that those stops are worn down, they dont catch the teeth anymore) What i did was very gently and gingerly screwed a 1" drywall screw straight down thruogh the stop (If u look real close at the 4 lil stops, ul see they have a lil hole in each of them, I screwed it in about an 1/8-1/4 inch. I only used 1 screw cause i figure A. when that 1 breaks I have 3 more and B.This is the experimental stage, i want to keep the problems to a minimum if and when it fails.
Please keep in mind that this was a spur of the moment fix, u could say out desperation, sort of. Im not an appliance repair man, I repair motorcycles on the side, amongst other things. This is what worked for me. The real fix is to buy a new one.

Oh yeah - everything else works fine...fills, agitates and drains the water without any problems what-so-ever..sorry, forgot to mention that.
