In my case: (by removing boiler cover) I could see the ignition was trying to light and inside the chamber there was a flicker of gas ignition but not enough to get it going. I simply covered my outside extractor vent from the boiler as it seemed much of the gas was escaping (I could smell it) and the elements were getting in, possibly blowing the flame out. Try placing a towel over the outlet whilst igniting boiler - it worked for me!

Just experienced the same problem, I spoke to my installer first who told me to try the Hairdring Trick (My Boiler is up in the loft) and it's freezing outside. Warmed up the expansion pipe and hey presto. One thankful and warmer Guy plus don't have to shell out for a callout.

My ecotech has been showing the same fault last few days. It is the condensing pipe running outside freezing (mine is 3m long and runs into my rainwater pipe.
Hacksawed it of tonight, so the excess water drips on the floor. Problem seems to be fixed

I get a red light witha f.28 error.
With particularly cold external conditions, the plastic pipe from the boiler to the outside may have frozen solid. I would heat the pipe slowly using a hair dryer freeing the drain ice from the pipe. When you are sure it is clear, press the ignition button under the red light and it should fire the boiler up without any problem.

F28 is gas supply or ignition problem. Sorry cannot help further than that.

Hi,
I get a red light witha f.28 error.
I use a screw driver and turn the value on the far right beneath the boiler. The pressure level goes up and then turn the value again to stop water flow. Then press the button below the red light, (this is on my boiler not sure abt urs), the button has a flame icon on it.
BUT IT DOES KEEP RECURRING.
Hope this help.
