How can I fix Corsa bonnet release catch?

The bonnet release catch does not work on my Y Reg 107 TDI Vauxhall Corsa, can anyone suggest a way to fix it please?

i got the AA to come out to release the bonnet. he used adjustable pliers to pull hard on the cable while i pressed down on the bonnet then used wd40 to lubricate the catch. works great now until i get a new cable............

If the cable is not actually snapped you might try this.
Drive the front end up onto a kerb..our school carpark did nicely. Roll back off the kerb while pulling on the lever. Voila! My bonnet popped and I took the opportunity to clean (wd40 and 3-in-1),sand smooth and grease up any dodgy bits before putting the bonnet down again. Haven't tried opening again but I am confident! :-)

Try getting someone to push down hard on the bonnet and then pull the release lever. If this works, but when you close the bonnet it won't open again, repeat the process, then when open turn the main catch (with the spring) 1/2 a turn out - anti-clockwise - but lining up the groove again with the lock.

to open the bonnet you just have to pull the catch with some force until the bonnet pops. my catch is currently gaffa'd to the interior of my car as to not let it dangle loose whilst driving.

this is a commen problem not only in the corsa if the bonnit wont open you need to get in via the grill and teas open the catch very difficult as one cant see.Do it by feeling , use a small screw driver to pop the catch you need small hands lol true and be versed in the art of contotionism .once the dam things open its easy grease up the spring carch on the underside of the bonnet and the actual catch on the boddy push back the catch remooving the bullet end of the cable then simply untheread the cable back through to the interior and de,conecting it from the pull leaver which usualy is of its pivit hinge and gets used as a tuging divice . fit a new cable in revers order making shaw its operating properly prior to shuting the bonnet or its contorting time aggain no thanks cheers rob
