can anyone help me, i need advice on how to repair my fridge. Ive had my fridgefreezer just over 2 years when the fridge started to get hot and make a loud noise. So i took the back off the inside the fridge, removed all the ice with warm water including the fan and unblocked the hole at the bottom. Dryed it all and put back together, it works ok for about a week then i need to repeat this. The fan seems to be working ok. but moist air is still getting in and freezing up is this due to a damaged seal, fan not working properly, something blocking the venation,the dranage hole still been blocked or needing water to be removed from somewhere under the fridge.Someone said that the drainage hole is to small and needs to be made bigger, when I look into the hole there are red wires so I am reluctant to drill this. I also removed the two bags out of compartments which i assumed to be filters, was this a mistake?.
hi I have an American fridge freezer with noisy fan too ....its ice build up in the fridge on the fan behind sealed compartment...ring Samsung on free phone number in one of the posts below and they come out and fix it....the person is right if you have never called samung out with a repair before they come out and do 1 repair free of charge...and we have had it 10 years....winner!!!!

We had the same problem and so did a friend of ours who bought a kit off the net so many parts in the end he ended up damaging his fridge beyond repair he brocked some sort of pipework then all the gas escaped anyway we phoned samsung who wanted to charge us a lot because our fridge was over five years we were just about to go ahead when my friend at work put us in touch with www.agsrefrigeration.co.uk they service the london area and do a lot of work for some of the major manufacturers they came out and found that only one minor part needed replacing not the multiple parts you can buy over the net saving us a fair amount and our fridge is working great now no problems since.

Hi All,
I just had the same problem. Noise started in the fridge fan. Then Ice at the back of the salad crispers. Then rise in fridge temp and noise getting louder. I found out that samsung have a recall on this and that if you phone them and report the fault then they will fix it for free and give you a free new 5 year warranty. Their call centre number is 0800 988 0123. Don't buy a repair kit just phone the manufacturer and they will fix it for free!!! How good is that - thanks Samsung.

My fridge had all the same faults, noisy fan, then no noise from the fan, warm fridge, no water, ice at the back fo the fridge blah blah blah. Bought a repair kit from Appliance DIY Repairs and did it all meself. Took about 1 hour. fridge is now good as gold. just bought a shelf off them and I now get water filters from them as well. I reckon I've saved at least half of what Samsung quoted me to fix it. I dont like buying off the internet usually but this definitely paid off for me.

i had the same problem with this frig, looked at this board and followed the advice given and rang samsung. i called mon morning, the engineer arrived tuesday with the new part and it is now all ok. i did mention on the phone to samsung that i was aware that there were problems with this frig. i cannot fault samsungs service whatsoever. thanks to this board i am a happy lady cos i thought i'd have to find money for a new frig.

My rs21dcns fridge side is not staying cool and the fan on the back is really noisy. Fan slows down and stops when you open the door then noise re starts when the door is closed.
Rang the number listed and Samsung confirmed a limited 5 years warranty on six parts which cause the fault.
Engineer calling within 24hours to make appointment for repair.
Couldnt be easier. totally hassle free.

Samsung American Fridge Freezers RS21 DCNS & DPSM, it is inherent fault, there is a Watchdog Report on these fridges, Samsung have offered an extended 5yr Warranty on these, phone Samsung UK Helpline 0845 726 7864, they will send an engineer and repair product free of charge. Typically fan will be noisy, stop working, fridge temp rises, and ice will appear in fan, although freezer usually works fine.

im having this problem, temp in the fridge started to rise by one or two degrees then by the next day it was getting up to 18 degrees. Defrosted it and left it unplugged for 2 days which seemed to work, but 5 days later same thing happening again.

The advice I've read for this issue is to unplug the fridge freezer and let it defrost for 48+ hours. This will get rid of all the ice blocking the fans and should sort out your problems. There's no need to take the back off the unit. I'm trying this tonight. I'll let you know how it works out in a week or so.

i am currently having the same problem,the cover that is inside the fridge takes abit of freeing ,i defrosted mine overnight to ensure no ice was holding it on ,£109.00 if you need a new one ,as long as the 4 screws are removed should come off easily it is only held in by a sponge seal,i have removed mine to check the fan motor, it is only 12 volts so hooked it up to a 12 volt car battery and it does not work, going to buy one this afternoon £47.50. mine was also full of ice due too the fan not functioning. the fan also started to make alot of noise about 2 weeks ago.

Its a bit stiff due to the ice build up but if you are careful it should come away ok, you could also put some warm water down the back to help to free the cover from the ice if you are worried. Its only polystyrene and a foam seal, ok mate.

hi paul,how did you manage to get the back of....
i took of the 4 screws and could not pull the bak in case i snapped it....
did it take much force to get that of or are there clips i need to be aware of.....
cos mine was making a loud noise but eventually it stop and so did the refridgeator part.
