I have a 3190 alarm. The module got wet and is fried. I bought one on ebay. No fobs and no PIN and no serial number. Is it possible to synch it to new fobs and if so what fobs would I need to buy?

If you can get into learning mode but fob will not program, the usual fault is the bonnet switch high resistance.
simply connect an additional wire from the switch wire to battery negative, this will allow the fob to program, remember you have to recode all fobs, then remove the wire from the battery negative to the switch.

If the problem is just that you replaced the battery in the remote unit, and you need to re-synch the remote with the car's alarm, Phil's response (2008) is THE answer; thanks Phil! When you do the two large-button presses, need to experiment a bit. Phew!

I have the instructions for the 3100 and 3900 series, and tried to add a new fob by following the instructions. However, I have not been able to get to the stage where the emergency panel led is on for 3 seconds and then goes off, after which you are supposed to enter the PIN and then get into the auto learning mode. The car is a Toyota Hilux 2004. Could it be that I have an older system for which the procedrue is different than that for the G3100/G3900 series? The fob is the 7777 type.

For additional transmitters: ensure that the alarm is disarmed, switch the ignition ON
and move dip switch No. 2 to the "ON" position. Press the ARM/DISARM button of the new transmitter
until the check led switches off. If you are self-coding to replace a lost transmitter, repeat the
self-coding process on all remaining transmitters a total eight times to remove the code of the old
transmitter. Move dip switch No. 2 to the "OFF" position and turn ignition off. To check the selfcoding,
arm and disarm the system with all transmitters. N.B. If you release the ARM/DISARM
button of the transmitter before the check LED switches off, the transmitter won't be coded.
SELF-CODING OF GT176 M2 TOUCH-KEYS
For additional touch-keys please follow the instructions described in the previous paragraph.
(N.B. the receptacle LED is always switched off).

Reprogramming fob

You'll need the override touch key and your alarm PIN.

1) Hold the two buttons on the alarm fob until the LED on the fob stays on

2) Turn the ignition on and off three times in a row ( don't start the engine, just so the dash lights show)

The LED on the dash will come on then go off after about 3 seconds

3) Turn the ignition on - the LED will flash - you have to count the flashes - these correspond to the alarm PIN - when the LED has flashed the first number turn off the ignition.

4) Repeat step 3 for all four number of the pin.

5) Turn the ignition on ( the LED on the dash should be off ) and touch the override key in the override socket

The LED will come on and stay on

6) Press the big button on the alarm fob

Your fob should now be programmed.

Good luck - if you muck up the counting of flashes, just wait ten seconds and start again - you won't ever block your alarm no matter how many times you give this a go.

Not sure if you mean the remote is not programming in after you've followed the instructions.....The procedure for that remote is longer than most and requires using a PIN number I think. Contact TECH-TRONICS in Manchester. They specialize in Car remote controls and may be able to help.
