How to fix a water hose leak?

My hoover steamvac is leaking all the water out of the bucket you add soap and water to. When I took the bucket that holds the dirty water out I can see a hose that is coiled like a vacume hose. This hose has a break in it . When the handle is standing up the hole is closed when I lay the handle down to take the dirty water holder off , I can see the hole . My question is what can I use to fix this leak, in the hose?
