Nef model S5943X0GB. This machine starts any of the programs but does not get hot or move onto the rinse & dry stages. As it doesn't get hot I suspect the heater but where is the heater?
Thank you Kenjo, The fault turned out to be simpler than I anticipated. The plug to the heater at the control board had fell out, consequently the heater was not activated & the machine did not reach temperature thus did not move onto the next stage.

Heater is located in a housing visible from the right hand side when side panel removed. You can check continuity of the element if you have meter and knowhow. you have to strip the whole machine to change the element not a diy project. Usually the heater does not come on because of low water level in the machine this is caused by a blockage in the clear corrugated hose that runs from the air chamber left hand side to the centre sump at front. If blocked try this first. cheers
