My Panasonic Tau won't turn on?

My TV is about two years old. All i did was turn on off the tv really quickly with my remote...basically, i hit the power button twice b/c i thought i didn't turn it on on the first try, and now it won't turn on at all. I'm wondering if i blew a fuse or something...does someone know what i could do to fix it?

Thanks in advance,
Sam

It was easy, just bought a new fuse 6amp 125v from home depot, took off the back of t.v and replaced it. put it back together hit power and it works.

thank you for the advice ... our Panasonic Tau is CT-36HL43 ... the manual should have information about the fuse and where it is located, in my opinion ... so we appreciate that others have posted. we required a 6.3A/125V fuse (4/$2.99 at RadioShack, although they only had the 250V in stock). it is *hard* to reach from the small opening where the power cord goes into the set, so we took off the entire cover and it was easier. fuse is the small glass tube type, maybe 1" long and 1/8" wide. well worth the small effort to save big hassle to move set to repair and obviously no need to replace set.

I had the same problem, replaced the fuse with a new one from Home Depot, and although that took about two hours the tv now works fine. The fuse is right under the part when the power cord comes out. You can take that part off, but I needed to cut off some of the plastic around it to have the room to get the old fuse out and the new fuse in.

We have the CT-32SX31E as well and it would intermittently turn off in the middle of watching, and we'd have to re-set the power strip it was plugged in to to turn it back on. Now it won't turn on at all. Glad to know it wasn't just ours, but I guess the whole batch of CT-32SX31Es.

Hello Cobweb,

We have the same problem with a 32" Tau CT32SX31CE (the Canadian version I guess).
Do you know where we can find the instructions as to what part of the TV we have to open and how to replace the fuse?
It was bought in 2001 with a 3-year warranty and has decided to play a trick on us today! (two weeks after the warranty is terminated).

Thanks!

If it one of these models...
TX28PK1, TX28PK2, TX28DT2, TX28DK1, TX28DK2, TX29AK1, TX32PK1, TX32PK2, TX32DT2, TX32DK1, TX32DK2, Blows mains fuse intermittently at switch on..

Replace original fuse with part number S5055AC-L ( 5 amps ) this is supplied with two new fuse ratings labels. For the fuses only use part number S5055AC. See attached multimedia file.
