Won't turn on after vacation?

My 12-year-old Sony Trinitron KV-32S10 (manufactured June 1994) wouldn't turn on after I got back from 5-day vacation. Nothing turns on on it at all. Not even the power light. It arcs really bad when you plug it in, but only for a second, then when you plug it right back in, it doesn't, if you wait a while, it'll arc again. I just want to know if is toast and I need to buy a new tv, or if something fixable.

I have the EXACT same problem with the EXACT same model number (Sony Trinitron KV-32S10). If you get an answer could you please post and I will do the same.

dont listen to jim, hes been smoking something, if you plug and leave a tv thats arcing your only going to cause more problems, ie it could blow, and as for the old parts becoming uncharged, come on jim you cant honestly believe that can you,

If you unplugged the tv while you were away,you caused the older parts to become uncharged.Plug it back in for about 10 hours,then try to turn it on,it may come back on .Don't unplug it any more.
