you need to prime the fuel filter first- fill it with fuel as it emptys the fuel in the tank is drawn through there is not a prime pump on the mondeo mk3. when the filter empties through lack of fuel it causes an air lock only way out is fill the filter then start the engine

No cut off (inertia) switch fitted.
Add minimum of 20 litres of fuel, switch ignition on for 10 seconds, off for 2 seconds ( repeat this 5 times)
Crank engine for no more than 20 seconds and allow the starter to cool for 30 seconds, before cranking again for 20 seconds. Repeat this until engine starts. ( up to 20 mins.

you need to bleed the fuel system,there is normally a bleed bolt at top of fuel filter,remove this & using a very small funnel fill filter till over flowing with diesel,( on most diesel's they have a primer pump)
