if it is 16 0r 8 valve disconect the battery remove the drivers side driveshaft you will need a 19 mm 21 mm and 30mm sockets to remove the wheel and the 2 bolts fron the drivers side strud and a copper hide hammer so you dont damage the bolts remove the 2 13 mm bolts in the drive shaft carrier and be warned you may lose some oil from the gearbox. then the starter is easy to get at 3 13 mm bolts hold the starter from the gearbox side and 2 wires on the starter 1 10 mm and 1 8mm the started can then be taken out if it is stuck it will just need a gentle wiggle by hand. check the dowl is in the gearbox still if not you well need to remove it from the starter and fit it to the new one it looks litle a metal ring in the center bolt whole of the starter and aligns the unit it must be fitter or you have done all that for nothing. the downs are easily damaged be carefull.
