Error Code F23 on Siemens S14-79 washing machine?

Bonjour. Suite au transport de la machine d'occasion, F 23 erreur. Aucune trace d'eau sur le fond. Problème venait du capteur d'eau et d'humidité détaché (une patte cassée) lors du transport. Le capteur (diamètre 10 cm) a été remis dans son emplacement avec la patte restante, et ca redémarre normalement.

Hi we had the same error f23 message and followed the steps below.
Took off the back of the machine and found a lot of water in the bottom. Dried the water up in the bottom. Took the top off the machine and notice water drops down the side of the drum on the right hand side. The hose that went from the detergent /softener tray ( grey hose) had a crack in it. We replaced it and put everything back in place. All working fine now.

Our iq f700 showed f:23. Drained from bottom cap then tilted forward to empty fully. Worked fine after!!

Hallo,
my washing mashine shows me the error f23. I have clothes in the mashine and the error is f23. If i put the mashine on and off the error appears again i also can not open the mashine door.
What can I do to solve this problem?

IQ 700. Forward tilt worked perfectly. Sump had filled due to blockage of drainage pipe at filter.

Siemens S49-79, front load, 8kg washing machine. when trying to start it displayed error F23. U should unplug your machine, tilt the machine forward 15 degree to drain the excess water from the base. after all water is drained, restart the machine.

Bravo! 2 weeks of puzzlement resolved in 5 minutes! The 15 degree tilt forward let the water out. Now have to replace the door seal! thanks.

Thanks for all the pointers...it's amazing how common these problems are ,even on a quality product!! I took the back and top off my washer and sure enough there was water in the base. To see where it had come from would not have been possible without the removal of the top. A small diameter tube from the top of the drum had come adrift from its other end connecter. So, to prevent further probs a reconnect with a small jubilee was in order. Followed with a mop up and dry in the base, sorted the problem in a jiff.

I had the same F:23 error problem with a Siemens iQ700 washing machine and following the answer given above worked for me:

- disconnected water & electricity
- removed back panel (lots of star screws)
- removed water (not very much)
- dried area
- replaced back panel and reconnected water & electricity

Hi,had the same problem after washing some towels. Flashing and bleeping error f23. Turned off both electric and water. Took the back panel off, dried the water from the bottom. Took the top off and re-connected a black pipe at the top of the drum on the right hand side. Put it back together and all works fine.

Quick fix for f23 error: The basin is easily emptied by tilting the machine towards the front at a 15 degree angle... finished! Any residual water in the basin wil quickly evaporate from the heat the machine produces

Just did almost the same, but took off the little frontplate on the bottom, only one screw. Dried the bottom of the machine and replaced the plate. Works!

Thanks for all the answers on this site. I took the back off and could see loads of water in the sump. I then took off the top and found the small pipe from the drum to the outlet pipe had come off. I put it back on with a cable tie to stop it coming off. After getting rid of the water in the bottom of the machine it worked fine. My only problem was getting a star-torx type screwdriver.

Worked for me too, could not work out what was wrong and had extracted all water out of the sump. Last resort was to take off the top of the machine and the back as well, found loads of water on the bottom of the machine. Mopped it up using kitchen towels, screwed it all back on and the F23 error disappeared.

Error code F23 means the anti-flood devce has come into operation because there is water in the sump. Cleaning and drying out the water in the sump (the bottom panel of the machine), will clear the fault and allow the machine to operate.....however, that may not be the end of the problem, if the machine has an internal leak then the problem will occur again. How long that takes is dependant on the severity of the leak. The root cause is the leak itself and this must be repaired before the machine will operate again normally. Take note that emptying and cleaning the filter can cause the same problem if you manage to spill water that makes its way into the sump! If this is the case then simply drying up the water out of the sump should suffice.

Unwillingly, one can cause this problem, when opening the cap of the emptying pump, water can splash back into the bottom of the nice washing machine, several times and collectively, this F 23 can be the result. I removed the water from the bottom and used a hair dryer to dry the area of the water sensor.

Had the same problem. Found that one of the pipes to the outlet pipe had come adrift due to the vibrations of the machine. Re-attached pipe. Dried sump and all worked correctly. Just a word of warning - check all pipes, connectors, etc are firmly connected before putting back into position.

F23 means that the inner base of the machine contains water.

Unplug the machine, both water and electricity

Unscrew the back panel, dry up the water, and it should work, it did for me.

Had same problem - took off backplate - loads of screws...dried the bottom of the machine and replaced the back - result!
