This is exactly what I did and it worked on about the 5th attempt. I made sure that the sky box was on and receiving signal first.

The problem is the TV is auto searching updates. You need to go into digital TV mode and then into menu . There you can turn off auto updates
The problem is off course you cannot use the TV whilst the light flashes (chicken and egg)
how to get round this is turn off switch at wall wait for light to go out and retry turn on sequence
It may take 10 goes but will eventually turn on allowing you to do the menu alteration
