I keep getting error code E41 on my NH 7840 and lose transmission. If I stop and resart the tractor it corrects it but soon happens again. Can anyone tell me what this code means?

The four clutch solenoids (p.w.m valves)are mounted externally on the right-hand side of the transmission case behind the battery and transmission accumulator. C1 towards the front axle fowlled by C2,C3 & C4. they are mounted vertically in a line. The solenoid coils are retained by a nut on the p.w.m. valve stalk this nut is lightly tighten just to "nip" the soleniod coil into postion, do not overtighten.

Thanks Ash
The tractor is a 7840 SLE with powershift gearbox.
Not sure how to swop the position of the solonoids though.

Presuming 16x16 Quad mod transmission. E41 is due to the C3 clutch solenoid open circuit. Suggest you swap postion of solnoid to C2 postion and see if the fault moves, if solonoid faulty E43 will be displayed. Could also be wiring fault in harness.
