why does my reverse lights not work can some body help?

i have my mot due but my reverse lights do not work i have checked the power to the curcut and thats fine and i have checked the bulbs and the great the earth is also fine no fuse gone, but could it be the switch on the gear box if so where do i find it and is it easy to do my self thankyou....sorry my van is a s reg 2.5 diesel....

thankyou all for answearing my question, i will sort the switch out then get back to you, thank you bg, k i thought it would fail on the mot as when i took my car in it failed due to no reverse lights you may want to check that one out......but thankyou.

Sounds like the Park/Neutral switch is bad and it should be located on trans or near it for gear shifter cable ...........you can get your local PArts store to look up the part and show you where it is at on screen .
