I see there are a lot of this arround in these machines. I too have been told that E3 error code is an overload code. "Nonsence" this machine has never been overloaded! Can someone help with an answer? SAMSUNG SUPPORT IS TERRIBLE...
Check the wires in the back of the control panel. Some of them are not put in very securely. After I replaced my dryer belt (for the 5th time) on my 4015J, I got the E3 code after 10 seconds of operation. After pushing on electrical contacts, the error code stopped and the dryer works fine.

I actually reached someone at Samsung who told me it is one of three things:
1- overload error (too much laundry)
2 - vent is blocked
3 - thermistor error - which I believe mine to be
She said call for service or search for "open source manuals" online.
