Newfitness treadmill board blew E1 error code?

I too have had a problem with a NewFitness machine, but it's a different issue. For some years now my machine works perfectly with the belt running at all speeds, and the platform elevating as required - the only fault is the display will not light up. The buttons on the display do still work though.

There are no loose connections and the speed sensor is in place.

When I turn the machine on the display flashes but then there is a click from inside the console and the display goes off.

Has anyone had a similar problem did you get it fixed?

I have a newfitness AS01 with a E1 error coming on the screen, where can get an engineer to and take look or where can I buy the right speed sensor for it, on eBay I looked for tradmill speed sensor but only American web sites came up.., help I need to get this working, ;-(

I also meant to add that err 1 code from what I've read everywhere seems to relate to just a speed issue rather than a specific componant failure on most mill's at least anyway.

I just managed to fix mine, I found it was several componants on the control board that had gone "bang", basically no one ever lubricates the belts as they should, (every three months) the board componants get to a point were the strain is just too much and go pop, depending on which componant goes depends on the repair cost etc, some bits cost a few pence others upto 15 pounds. Mine runs fine again now following the err1 code showing, and yes I have lubricated the belt since repair !

Hi,

I have a new fitness AS01 treadmill that developed E1 error as you described. I bought a new speed sensor off ebay for £20 and replaced the faulty one. It is easy to fix, just two small screws and two wires to connect. It has been working flawlessly ever since, it is really a good machine once you replace the speed sensor. Search for "tradmill speed sensor" on ebay and you will find it.

I also have a newfitness machine which has a fault causing no power to the main motor and the stepper motor .
I was wondering if you managed to get a contact for newfitness co. if you have I would be very gratefull as it has been 9 months since it went faulty and i have been unable to use it .

mine will work fine for 30-35mins then suddenly speed up, then stop. Press the start button again but will do the same after 5 minutes. Leave it over night and will be fine for 30-35 minutes the next day.

I also have one of these lovely broken machines, except mine speeds up to the highest level once you press start and won't let you alter it. Speed Sensor maybe?? Are they easy to fix (no knowledge fixing such things). Any help would be appreciated.

Hi have the same problem with my wife treadmill with the same error code motors fine console works had the pcb tested and told thats its ok as soon as its powered up it makes a bang and trips everything out weird any ideas won't buy buy another t/mill in case the same problem occurs.

Hi, are you anywhere near Cambridge?

You need to test the motor with a 9volt battery or voltage meter, if it is ok then you will need to replace the Main control board which should be about £115 just swap it and the treadmill should run without the E1.

hi its sounds like the magnet has come out of the fltwheel and hit the speed senors. nt difficult to repair. i spent todays finding the fault on my machine and it now works fine.

I have searched endlessly for a repair but I have been advised that these treadmills are rebadged imports from China and there is no hope for a spare part so therefore no repair.

Hi, looks like these treadmills are not very reliable. Mine also went bang after 2 years and blew the house fuses. I thought it was the motor but it checked out ok. I have been told that it is most likely the pcb but no one interested in repairing it. I have just sent an e-mail to the company for a new board but don't hold out much hope. I'm not going to spend hundreds and risk the same thing so off i go to check out the gyms.

this happened to me, same machine, prob same ebay company. Thay sent me a replacement board( not sure of the name) It worked fine for a couple of years and now has just happened again, but as you say the company is no longer trading on ebay!!! what do i do?

Steve, I have the same prob;lem as you but without the bang. The treadmill just stopped on the E1. Did you find a service engineer and fix the prob?

If the dispaly reads E1 and the motor can still run after 3 seconds it means there is something wrong with the speed sensor, drive board or connecting wires. The main problem is likely to be the speed sensor and usually after replacing it, the machine will be ok

Hi

I had the same problem with a Newfitness treadmill and the E 1 error related to a sensor I was sent several parts to fix the problem all without successes, I eventual had to recover my money through the courts. So good luck

hi there i have exactly the same problem i dont no if i have the same machine as you,the only name i can finf is gs,if you do find out how to repair the e1 error i would be pleased to here from you,in the meantime i will try to get help if i do i will let you know.
