Hi,
I have a 2000 S Type. Started to show a warning "gearbox fault". Jaguar dealer's diagnosis shows code P0795. They say I need a new gearbox £3500, but the car although in pristine condition is only worth £3000 max. The car is still running fine, no noises, but intermittent gear changes. Helpful suggestions gratefully received. Keith

Gearbox fault and battery light comes on, sometimes. New batterty alternator and regulator fitted to my 2l 2006 x type
Not always but then it wont start othertimes its perfect . Had computer teste show memory clear . Other times car starts but battery light stays on

I have a 2003 jaguar xj8 ...gearbox fault message comes on when u are at a stop start to go then it hesitates, then drives fine ,message goes away!!

my 2002 vanden plas jaguar just showed a gear box fault on and i have trouble to put it on gear it jus wont catch first gear

I have a 2002 xtype 2.5 with 132k on it. Got a gear box fault warning light and the speedometer reads zero and the e brake and abs light come on with it. You shut the car off wait ten seconds It starts up and drives and the brake, abs lights goes out. I still have the gear box fault warning that scrolls across the dash.

my 2003 s-type jaguar, won't start, I have full power with lights, horn windows etc, I tried a jump, and the care won't turn over.
It won't move out of gear. Any ideas?

Hi Keith, the fault code P0795 indicates a "fluid pressure solenoid C " problem, and the fix's are wiring, poor connection, solenoid or the ECU if you search for cars with autobox problems on this site there is a guy who knows of most fix's (rb transmission) he normally includes his email address
