Remove the planetary hub(unscrew the single chromed nut and withdraw hub) clean off old grease, clean, re -grease gear/teeth/brass bearing using ONLY food grease (so you do not get poisoned). Re-assemble. Old grease deteriorates from being viscous to a more liquid form.
