my speedometer has stopped working on my C5 ?

my speedo has stopped working the rev counter is working was told it could possibly be abs wheel sensor units could this be right and is their more to repairing it than just replacing sensor units

should be a bulb at the back. same happend to me, it should be a twist and replace version.

my speedometer has stopped working on my zara citreon piccasso. Can see it slightly in the dark but daylight its invisible! Could be the bulb needs replacing, just not sure and not sure where to get one from.

Try getting one from a scrap yard if there are any about.. will be harder to get hold of on newer cars i suppose, but my old FIAT had the same problem and I just had to switch it for another one, only cost £20

My speedo isn't working - rev counter fine. Local gargage couldn't fix it so sent me to Citreon dealer who are quoting over £550 to repair by means of a new dash display. Does anyone know how I can get this fixed cheaper??

my speedo wasnt working i took the dash out and swapped the rev and speed motors over put it back together and both r working ok now

The stepper motor pin snapping is a commomn fault it seems>Mine is the same. Citroen do not sell the part but will sell you a dash for £300 !!!!. I am trying the scrappys and various other routes to find a stepper motor. Magneti Marelli could be the supplier of this item to Citroen. i am trying to source one via this route. Very frustrating

This happened to my car. The cause was the failure of the stepper motor which drives the speedo needle. The motor is mounted on the back of the instrument panel aand is readily removeable. All that had happened to it was that a small plastic pin which is moulded into the casing had broken off. The pin is the pivot for the small green gearwheel that is part of the mechanism. The stepper motors are not available seperately from citroen. I fixed it by drilling the casing and Aralditing in a newpin made from a piece of 1.5mm drill bit. I should warn you that is all a bit fiddly, the whole motor is only about the size of a 50p piece and the gear wheel is only about 10mm across. However it can be done!

Is the rev counter working?. If not the speedo cluster is at fault replacement from dealer over £300.00
