My renault clio (Y-reg 1.2) manual says that if you enter the code incorrectly, you should wait for one minute (with the set switched on) and it will reset itself, allowing you to re-enter the code. if you enter it incorrectly again, you will need to wait for 2 minutes, then 4, 8, 16 up to 32.

If you know the code this shouldn't be a problem.

It still looks as though you bought a faulty radio as the fuse wanting replacing....and hopefully you have the correct code?....So if you have definitely left it switched on for 12 hours (UNDISTURBED) and it still doesn`t work , then it looks as though it will have to be taken in to a Decode + Repair Specialist who will open it up to check + repair it if necessary....then recode it for you using electronic equipment. I would think that this will be very expensive so it might be cheaper to buy a used replacement (off Ebay. ?)

i have tried leaving the radio on but still no change, the radio displays code, solidly with no flashing and the time which is flashing, have completely removed the battery and the radio and the same happens, all i can get the radio to do is beep when any button is pressed or the spin wheel is moved

You`ve still not said whether you have carried out the previous instructions ( leaving switched on overnight s)..If you don`t want to try that then you will have to take it in to a specialist (or buy a replacement with a code)...
It appears to me that the radio is faulty and will not work anyway because fuses don`t normally blow without a reason.

well i bought the car from a dealer without the code and it didnt work before because i think a fuse had gone, i replaced the fuse and then the code problem started, got the code from a website which i had to pay for so i assume the code is right but i still cant get any digits to come onto the screen for me to enter the code, this is the same before and after

i know the code (it isnt 0000, but a 4 digit code) since i turned the radio on, after taking the battery out multiple times as i am performing numerous changes to the engine, i cant get any digits to come up on the screen for me to select the right ones, and everytime i press 1-4 for the corresponding digits i only hear a beep and even when using the remote on the steering wheel i still only hear a beep, is it possible that one of the wires controlling the radio isnt connected or, that the display is faulty and not showing the digits at all?

Did the radio work OK BEFORE you disconnected battery/worked on engine?...If so, then it looks as though the radio is locked due to too many wrong codes or wrong procedure...Re-read +carry out the advice in the previous answer (leave switched on overnight?) and hopefully it will reset automatically. You have to be patient (+ methodical) when dealing with these code problems otherwise the radio will remain locked.

If you are sure you have the right code and you are entering it correctly http://www.davidsonelectronics.co.uk/code_entry.htm ......... then it sounds as though you have entered more than one wrong code and the radio is locked . If so , you have to switch the radio ON by pressing the appropriate button ( AS?) + the ON button. At this point you should hear a beep......Now leave the radio switched ON ( undisturbed) until it resets itself. (Possibly up to 11 hours). At this stage enter the code and press the appropriate button again ( AS ? ) and it should work
