FIAT BRAVA - MEANING OF A DASH BOARD SYMBOL THAT KEEPS COMING UP?

my injection warning light keeps flashing i have a fiat bravo. booked into a garage to get diagnostic check. how much should this cost and what is usually the main problems with this. does in cost an arm and a leg to sort out.

easy to fix mostly. for injector light, go ointo the boot and remove the carpet by pushing forward towards the back seats, you may also need to fold these down. then ul see a circular object held in by like 3 screws take this out and lift the fuel pump complete out then at the bottom of the pump you will see a little cloth sediment catcher that looks like a persil bag, clean the contents that hvae been trapped in this bag out using a bowl of petrol and refit to pump and then put pump back in car x then when refitting allow primer pump to sit on a while before starting car. this has always fixed the fault with my bravo when it has occoured.

if the dash symbol looks like torch,this indecates E.C.U. HAS LOGGED A FAULT CODE. you need to have the plugged into a diagnostic computer & that will show where in sytem you have probs. DO NOT GO TO MAIN DEALER.!!!!! check yellow pages 4 auto electrician.th,er whizz guys!!!!

Just got a fiat brava P Reg and same thing happening with the injector light while driving coming on and off - did anyone have luck in fixing it? :0)

hi there,any idea of what could be ! my bravo starts to turn on the maintinance light (injection spray) after the choke goes off and the idle goes from 1000rpm to3000 and than to zero and some times it turns off any ideas couse here in Malta no one can find what it is (fiat garage dont have the equipment for it as its the only 1.8 GT !!!

hi' my car is doing the same well it cut out of full & now some times the light comes on & its like the car is running on 3 silenders i am going to see what i can do i tryed the injector cleaner it dident work.
i can drive for a long time or short time turn the engin off then start it up again & it plays me up again but if i leave it till the engin is cold it starts ok

I have a Fiat Brava P Reg and a light on the dashboard has come on looks loke a plug with spray coming out of it it is on when I am driving

The symbol is an engine management fault. It does not mean that you have an injector fault as this warning will come up to signify an error has occured . It could be any number of faults that are picked up by the sensors or even mean the sensor is faulty in itself. The only way to find out is to take it to a reputable Auto electrician ( not Fiat as they charge the earth just to read the codes).

The meaning of this symbol... Injection System Malfunction..
when there is a failure in the injection system.
when the key is turned to MAR, the light comes on but should go
out after a few seconds..

If the warning lamp remains lit or comes on while the car is travelling,
It means that the Injection system is not working properly and
may result in Reduced performance.. poor steerability and high
consumption.

If this happens, you may continue your journey. but you should not tax the engine too much or
drive too fast. Do not continue to drive the car with the warning
light lit for to long. as this could damage the engine..
especially if it is not running smoothly or is misfiring.

This happened to my fiat Brava so i had a Diagnostics test done

I read too deep into your question see if this is what is happening to you, on entering the car and turning on the ignition the ign light. the oil light handbrake light,and lastly the one with the spray coming out come on ,if you do nothing the spray one will turn off after about 10 seconds but if car does not start off the key you have to turn the ign all the way off then turn back on this will activate the spray one every time to do a self test of the injectors (THIS HOW MY DAUGHTERS FIAT PUNTO WORKS.)
YOUR CAR IS OK AS LONG THE INJECTOR LIGHT DOE'S NOT COME ON WHILE YOU ARE DRIVING if it does my previous answer applies

injectors faulty , fault with a injector solenoid ,sticking injector pin try putting some injector cleaner in tank might clear might not.
